10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
FEE: $60/session | $160/three-session package

Kate Rutter and nature journalers at The Foster Museum

Celebrate the beauty and wonder of nature through journaling, a magical blend of art and science that deepens our connection with nature.

The focus of this series led by Kate Rutter is on visually expressing curiosity about what we observe, rather than creating polished botanical art. In all sessions, Kate will be available for questions and individual instruction during field journaling time. All skill levels are welcome; "art" is in the experience itself.

Landscape Drawing for Beginners - Led by Caroline Mustard

Pencils and brushes in Tony Foster's studio in Cornwall, 2016. Photo by Tim Bullen

4-Week Series: July 16, 23, 30, and August 6
Wednesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm
FEE: $250 for the Series

The operative word for this introductory landscape drawing series is JOY, sure to be a component of each class. No prior experience is needed, just a willing and interested heart! Artist Tony Foster begins his en plein air painting process by drawing on paper and completes it with watercolor. For many artists, drawing landscapes is an important first step or, often, the end point!

In this series, you will be introduced to the basic skills needed to draw landscapes from photographs, other artworks, and  "en plein air" (in the open air).
